What is a Minority Grant?

There are millions of dollars available as minority grants for African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, American Indians, women and practically any other minority group you can think of. Minority-owned businesses in the United States have grown at a rate more than four times as fast as non-minority-owned businesses since the early 90’s. The overall number of minority-owned businesses has increased from 2 million companies to nearly 3 million in the same period according to the U.S. Commerce Department's Census Bureau.

In this era when many of the minority programs relating to Affirmative Action are no longer offered in the business community, there is still plenty of grant money available for minorities out there for the asking. Many of our national legislators were elected due to the promises they made to minority segments of the population living in their districts and most of them have promised to take care of their minority constituents any way they can. The policies might be different, but the promises are still being fulfilled by the generous minority grants offered by the states and Federal Government alike.
